Cinemaniac is a public cinema community app: chat, calls, movie search, reviews and memberships. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

• Sign-in details: when you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name, email address and profile photo. We do not receive your password.
• Content you post: messages, reviews, ratings, lists, images, videos and profile details you choose to share.
• Device push token: so we can send notifications you have turned on.
• Crash data: crash and error reports via Sentry, configured to exclude personal data.
• Linked accounts (optional): if you link YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Discord or Steam on your profile, you sign in on that platform and we receive only your public profile details for it (account ID, handle, profile link) and, where offered, public counts such as subscribers, followers, likes, views and videos. We use them only to show that account and its counts on your Cinemaniac profile, refreshed once a day. Sign-in tokens stay on our server, are never sent to the app or shared, and are deleted when you unlink the account or delete your Cinemaniac account.
• Membership status: if you buy a membership, Stripe processes the payment. We never see or store your full card number.

Why we use it

• To create and secure your account and show your profile.
• To run the community: deliver chats, calls, reviews and notifications.
• To keep the app safe (moderation, reports, blocks) and to fix crashes.
• To manage memberships.

Where it is stored

Account and community data is stored with Supabase in the United States. Uploaded media is stored on Cloudflare (R2), and some services (movie catalog cache, calls, video) run on our own servers behind Cloudflare. Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We share data only with the service providers above, as needed to run the app, or when required by law.

Your choices

• Delete your account in the app (Settings). This deletes your account and personal data and cancels any membership.
• Export your data in the app (Settings) to get a copy of your information.
• Turn notifications off at any time in the app or your device settings.

Google and YouTube data

Linking YouTube uses Google sign-in with the read-only YouTube permission (youtube.readonly). We read your own channel's ID, name, link and public statistics (subscribers, views, videos) and nothing else: no videos, playlists, comments, watch history or email. Cinemaniac's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never read by people except where you ask us to or the law requires. You can revoke access anytime by unlinking YouTube in the app or at myaccount.google.com/permissions; we then delete the stored token and channel data. YouTube's own terms apply: YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

Children

Cinemaniac is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Movie data

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Movie and TV information and images are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB).

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
